     Note: This class is hands-on & requires a laptop

Introduction to Legislation

​This intro class will introduce you to the websites of both the House and Senate in Jeff City. It is a hands-on class, so bring a laptop! REPACCMO will show you how to maneuver the sites, and how to:

• Find bills that have been filed and their progress

• Locate a specific bill

• Track a bill's progress from first reading, through committees,

   various votes and amendments to final passage (or not). 

• Find the votes that all reps or senators took on specific

  legislation

• Find all bills that actually passed in a legislative session

 

Intro to Opposition Research​​​

This portion of the class will show you how to navigate the search center of the Missouri Ethics Commission (MEC) website . You will learn how to:

• Find reports for specific committees and people

• Find out who donates to specific politicians

INTRODUCTION TO COMMITTEE LIFE - full day

This is a beginning class for new committee members, those considering joining a central committee (CC), and for those experienced members who have never had any training on committee organization, statutes, and authority. This class will teach you the role of the central committees and how CCs fit into the overall organization of the MO GOP. The class covers the following:

   Committee Responsibilities

   Bylaws that Matter

   LDs, SDs, CDs, JDs - the others committees your CC is

   a part of - how to find them & who the members are

   How to Grow Your Committee

 

ROBERTS RULES OF ORDER - full day

    A full day of training and why it's important

OPPOSITION RESEARCH - half day^

How to find the information "they" don't want you to have! 

*Hands on, requires a laptop

INTRO TO LEGISLATION  - half day^

Learn how to navigate House & Senate websites, find legislation, follow bill progress​​, & voting records

COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES - half day^

Checklist of duties, responsibilities, statutory authority, & deadlines for some responsibilities

WEBSITE DESIGN* - full day

Learn how to create a website for your committee or group. 

Leave with a useable site! 

*Hands-on, requires a laptop

EXCEL BASICS - full day

Learn the basics of creating and using an Excel spreadsheet. Create and manage your own mailing list, easily organize contact info for your central committee, track expenses for MEC reports, and more. Filter and sort information as needed. Print reports with repeating rows or columns for long spreadsheets. Bring your questions!

^Two half day classes will be offered to create a full 10 - 4 class.
